main frame

the other day me jack and tom had a portfolio visit at a animation studio in manchester called main frame there are five members of staff that work there and two of them chatted to use, Ian Waters and Chris Hardcastle

we met these guys when when we when to motion north but it was nice to see them again, one of the projects i talked about was my FMP i didn't have that much to show but i explain what i was going to do and i think they got the hang of it. they really liked the idea of the animation repeating in the way it starts with an empty field and ends with an empty field, the advice he gave me is try not make it too long try make it short and sweet so with this good advice im going to change the story so it is shorter

projection

today me and dave visited the neighbourhood studio in manchester to talk to stuart the guy hew worked on the neighbourhood christmas card,  the talk with stuart was very useful he explains the problems he faces, the biggest problem that he faced and this was the problem he warned us about was the 3d aspect, he explained that when making some thing 3d and giving them some sort of 3d texture like for example are windows on are digital buildings whey can only be seen at one angle but if you look it at a   different angle it will look distorted he gave me a couple of sites that are quite use full

hologram

As I was doing some research in to 3D environments I came across an interesting mothered that I found quite interesting so I had to give it a go I found the plans on you tube they were in a different language but I got the hang of it I made a small scale model and then timed it by 4 and I ended up with this, this technique looks visually nice and if it was executed nicely it could be a great side peace for the show.

motion north

The other night we when to a meet up called motion north it was hosted by ben from the advertisement company main frame, as this was the first time I had bin to one of these events it was a little strange in the way I don’t really go around talking to strangers, but after a while I began to talk to a guy called Ian he also worked at main frame and specialized in Maya he was a nice guy and answered some of my questioned I had and one of them that had me quite interested was how to face track he gave me some useful advise and emailed me the next day and gave me some good links
As the night began to develop we eventually got introduced to all of the guys at main frame and they were very enthusiastic about keeping in touch
