film

another great example of moving image is the film industry creating a wide range of themes and techniques from many directors such as james Cameron, Steven Spielberg and

Michael Bay

all so in the movie business the other process that go in to the film like lighting, camera angles sound, photography
, costume design, set design, SFX etc
all the methods to creating a full featured film like the film Armageddon

i created a small clip that includes lighting and camera angles that is important for the type of film this clip is influenced from the film Quarantine (REC)

i all so had a go and investigated in to green screen a us full metered in to creating a film

another example used quite a lot in the the film industry is extreme make up artists used to give the illusion of deformity on someones body

scratched film
another great example of moving image is scratch film, a 16mm reel of film being scratched to reveal an abstract sequence almost hypnotic in a way

3d animation

like 2d animations like the simpsons there is also 3d animations using computer generated imagery to create a virtual world this method is used quite a lot in modern day Society in films, tv programmes, music videos, short animations. an example of a C.G.I films toy story, bugs life, cars, wall e, up, bolt

i created a short 3d animation to show you an example of a c.g.i film

vase

also another example of still imagery witch i came across in my last brief, images carved and painted on side off vases, as the vase rotates around the images reveal a short animation like it would in cave drawings.

also this idea is used quite a lot in greek history showing mythical creatures

cave drawings

all tho still images do not move they can still tell a story like
ancient caved drawing used around the world thousands of years ago to tell the stories of days in a life of a Neanderthal as they describe hunting methods or a story of there
day.
this methods used thousands of years ago to tell stories with images is used this
day in comic books like the story of spider man created bye Stan Lee

video art
another great use of moving image is video art like the video artist bill viola using great use of
lighting and camera angles like in this video

video art
all tho the image doesn't move its self i think the sand art is still in the moving image category as the proses of creating the image brings the sand alive and creates a hypnotic story, when i first watched this video i was intrigued on how it was going to turn out.

start

as i began to star the summer brief investigating what is moving image. in my mined when i first think of moving image i think of cartoons such as the simpsons ((Matt Groening )) and sponge bob square pants ((Stephen McDannell Hillenburg)) Scooby do (( Joe Ruby)) i think this because i was brought up on these shows as a child and i was amazed with animations created
